This weekend UNLV hockey (15-2-0) returns to City National Arena as the No. 3 ranked team in the ACHA as the Rebels take on the Oklahoma Sooners (4-10-4).
“It’s all about maintaining our focus. You can’t get too high, you can’t get too low at this point in the season,” assistant coach Nick Robone said. “We have to just go in there each game and really focus on our objectives and everybody’s job.”

The Skatin’ Rebels face off against the Sooners on Jan. 27-28, featuring a 7:30 p.m. PST puck drop both nights.
UNLV hosts Military Appreciation night on Saturday, with all active and retired military members receiving discounted tickets. The Rebels play in custom themed jerseys for the night that fans can bid on throughout the game week.
The Rebels host the weekend after spending the last two weekends on the road.
“Traveling is fun, but it’s good to get back to some home games,” Jaxsen Wyatt said. “This weekend we’re hoping to get a lot of fans to come out and get them two more home wins.”
The Rebels enter the weekend with an eight-game winning streak, coming off two great triumphs against Liberty. UNLV swept the Flames with a shootout appearance the first night.
With 17 ACHA Division I games in the books, UNLV recorded 95 total goals (5.58 per game) while only permitting 36 goals against (2.12 per game).
Oklahoma has registered 43 goals (2.38 per game) in 18 ACHA Division I games with 64 goals against (3.5 per game).
The Sooners enter the series coming off two-losses against Colorado State as they look for their second win of 2023.
