UNLV Hockey is set to host its official Giving Day on August 25 from 9-11 a.m. at the Esports Arena inside the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

As the Rebels strive to continue their winning ways, the program is reaching out to the Las Vegas community for assistance in raising money for ice and travel costs.

Currently, the team is looking at a bill close to $50,000 as they look towards hosting an exhibition game against NCAA Division I opponent, University of Alaska-Anchorage at the Dollar Loan Center on Nov. 16.

“I think it allows an opportunity for our guys to raise funds for the program, as well as create a bit more of a community environment to get people involved,” assistant coach Nick Robone said. “Not only will they be reaching out in their network, but they will rely heavily on social media as well.”

“This is great for our brand- not only to raise money but to create awareness about the program.”

The event will feature the Skatin’ Rebels players and coaching staff inside the arena, while being split into groups of four with a leaderboard on the big screen to feature all the donations raised.

During this time, they will be going live on their social media accounts to reach out to their networks to help raise money.

Any contributions that can be made to the team will be greatly appreciated. Rebel Hockey looks towards connecting with the community before the start of the 2022-23 season.
